Technical expertise is a necessary requirement for professional development, particularly because it contributes to building a base of credibility. Kendra Whitlock Ingram took the helm of the world-class performing arts theater in December of 2019 and steered the organization through the pandemic that closed their doors and reduced annual income by nearly 75%. But the show must go on! Jill Mueller, VP of Training and Learning Experiences
Darcy Luoma Coaching & Consulting

Almost two-thirds of American employees report that they have at some time worked in a toxic workplace. If that stat is right, most working professionals have experienced work environments where conflict is high, trust is low, and morale is nosediving right along with productivity.

But just like toxicity can creep into a workplace, it can be wiped out. As an individual contributor or a manager, you can learn strategies to minimize the effects of toxicity on your experience and turn a bad situation into one infused with positivity, engagement, and teamwork.

Attend and learn:

- What a toxic workplace is and how to safeguard your company culture against it
- To identify obvious toxicity and the more subtle corrosive behaviors that often go unaddressed
- How to positively impact company culture as a leader and an individual contributor
- To boost engagement and morale through communication of vision, mission and meaning around the work your teams are doing
- How to heal the wounds of toxic behavior, restoring trust and excitement to your workplace.
- Join us for this workshop and learn to remove the toxic sludge in your workplace.

INSTRUCTORS

Lori Urban, Partner, Advantage Performance Group

Susan Sheehy, Partner, Advantage Performance Group

It’s one thing to be a genius in your own right but imagine the impact you’d have as a leader if you can tap into the genius of those around you. The Multiplier Effect is the ability to prioritize the intelligence of others, while also making the most of your own skills.

Join us for this workshop that will help you become a Multiplier and avoid the pitfalls of diminishing the potential of others by forgetting that you’re not always the smartest person in the room. Learn to push those around you to share their ideas, take risks, brainstorm, and re-imagine your shared work – tapping into the hidden genius that can uplift the whole team.

Attend and learn:

- That you don’t have to do everything yourself, and maybe (just maybe) the people you least expect have some of the best ideas

- To help those around you tap into their strengths and apply their know-how to tasks that they normally wouldn’t tackle

- To resist the urge to micro-manage and believe that people are smart and can figure it out

- To put aside your assumptions about people, and find out what they really can do

Multipliers draw from 70-100% of people’s strength, while Diminishers only tap into 20-50% of their co-worker’s genius. Come and learn new techniques based on Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter, and learn how to bring the best out of yourself, your co-workers, your team, your customers, even your children and other family members

Nearly 33% of today’s workforce are parents with minor children, but until recently, work and parenting have been treated as parts of life needing to be “balanced” but separate. The world of virtual work has somewhat blended the work/life lines, bringing clients, colleagues and co-workers into each other’s homes and bringing the realities of working parenthood into the forefront.

This roundtable is for everyone – working parents, leaders who manage workers with children, professionals thinking about becoming parents, and professionals with adult children. We’re putting together a panel of Milwaukee professionals to ask and answer questions that will help us all better blend and balance life and work.

We will discuss:

- How to create a practical plan to support your professional and parenting goals.

- Wellbeing for parents and how to ask for help, set boundaries, and prioritize self-care.

- The reality of working parenthood – statistics from the latest studies.

- Deciding what matters most and how to manage conflicting priorities.

Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently. It’s a strategic competency for professionals that is sometimes learned in a formal setting, or refined through practical, on-the-job work experience. Either way, strong project management skills are necessary to get projects done with the desired results and meeting the business’ overall goals.

What most successful project managers learn is that these skills aren’t just useful on the job. A strong grasp of project management can keep you on track at work and in your everyday life. Join us for this workshop as you learn about the Aglile method of Project Management – a style that breaks large tasks and goals to smaller pieces for success.

Attend and learn:

- Different approaches to project management (Agile vs. Waterfall) and the pros and cons you should consider in applying them to your tasks

- How to use project management skills to keep you from feeling overwhelmed
