Employers are getting intentional about second-chance hiring which is leading to more diverse workforces, increased productivity, and an answer to the post-pandemic labor shortage.

A recent survey by SHRM researchers reported that in 2021, 66% of H.R. professionals were willing to work with individuals who have criminal records, up from 49 percent in 2018. The same study showed that 85% of H.R. professionals and 81 percent of business leaders said that justice-involved employees perform just as well or better in their jobs than other workers.

Join us for the next Region of Choice best practices session as we explore the untapped potential of justice-involved talent in the workplace. We’ve partnered with MICAH to organize a panel of human resource practitioners to shed light on the benefits of hiring those who have a criminal record or have been formally incarcerated. This conversation will also address the often unspoken, but very real concerns and misconceptions around hiring those who are justice-involved.

Join us for The Summer Sunset Yacht Cruise - a two-hour expedition coasting down Lake Michigan on the Vista King. Spend the cruise sightseeing with the wind in your hair or relax with a cocktail by the bar! Either way, you'll have a chance to spend some quality networking time with 150 young (and young at heart) professionals enjoying one of Milwaukee's best assets - the water.

4:30-6:00pm (Optional): Pre-Cruise Dining

Join FUEL staff and other FUELers at a TBD location to grab some food and drinks before boarding the boat. At 6:00pm we'll gather everyone and walk over to the dock which is just a block away!

6:00pm: All Aboard!

Registration and boarding will be starting at 6:00pm. Arrive early to guarantee the best seats onboard! Every passenger must be on the boat before 6:30pm. Because of the time restriction, please ensure you leave extra time for parking. There will not be food onboard, please plan accordingly!

6:30-8:30pm: We're Cruising

Enjoy networking with a view for the next two hours. A bar will be available on board!

8:30-10:00pm (Optional): The After-Cruise Mixer

The after-party will be all about continuing the fun on land.

Through this exercise you will be able to determine which societal organizations you are apart of, and whether they positively or negatively impact your life, relationships and career.
