As you may know, when Milwaukee Film took over operations of the Oriental Theatre, one of our many goals was to install a pipe organ in the cinema worthy of the magnificent shared theater experiences from the Oriental’s earliest opening days in 1927. After years of careful research, we are delighted to announce that we have at last found one! And, following extensive restoration and assembly, a 1925 Wurlitzer Pipe Organ has made its way into our beloved cinema palace…..coming home again.

The staff and board of directors at Milwaukee Film could not be more excited to unveil this cultural icon at the Oriental Theatre on Thursday, November 8 where it will play for the very first time.

We invite you to a special fundraiser benefiting the arts nonprofit Milwaukee Film with food, friends, fun and, of course, MUSIC to honor this momentous occasion and debut. Join us for a night like no other and be among the first to hear the organ play in our main house cinema.

Following the exciting debut and live paddle auctions, we will present a special screening of the 100th Anniversary of the film Safety Last! with live organ accompaniment.

Every year at the end of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Hispanic Collaborative provides a briefing regarding the state of Latinos in our region. Please join us for the 2023 Report where we will focus on two important issues for Latinos and necessary issues for regional prosperity. While Latinos are the fastest growing population in the U.S. and in our region, Latinos are also experiencing some of the greatest educational and wealth gaps. Our report will present a snapshot of the changing educational attainment of our regional Latino population and a glimpse at how much our population will affect the next few decades in higher education. Additionally, we will share information regarding our Latino workforce and how we fueling growth today and powering the needs of tomorrow.
